I'm Jacob Stolt — Chief Business Officer at Comix Wellspring (CWS), where we help comics creators handle the parts of the business that aren't drawing comics: fulfillment, distribution, digital storefronts, print-on-demand. The whole back end of getting a creator's work into the world.

Creative Philomath — a lover of learning, especially across the arts. That's the label I've settled on for myself. The disposition shows up everywhere: I read constantly, build software for fun, run businesses for real. Lately the philomathic side has been boiling over. Breadth has gotten me far, but I can feel the pull toward depth — picking one thing and going deeper than feels reasonable. I'm circling a PhD, partly for that reason. The subject is still up for grabs.

This site is where the threads come together. Writing about whatever I'm thinking through. Projects I've built or am building. Occasional book notes when something is worth saying something about. Less a portfolio than a working notebook left open on the desk.
